Hello! I like to read and write fanfic and am now reviving my DW due to Tumblr fuckery.

My main fandoms are Rómeó és Júlia and other Hungarian musicals. I've made a DW community for those, you can find it at

If you are interested in what I am reading, I'm pretty good at listing it on Goodreads (though not at all good at reviewing, whoops). I'm drcalvin there too, and follow back everyone who introduces themselves. My main interests are fantasy, SF, urban fantasy, manga, indie comics. Especially interested in reading LGBT+ stories in all the named genres and media types.

I'm so glad we like at least one of these canons! I greatly look forward to the fic you'll write. I hope you have a lot of fun while writing it, and that my suggestions are helpful – if you find they're more confusing than inspiring, please feel free to ignore everything but my little list of nopes (few of which I think are likely for any of these fandoms, but I tried to be thorough). I hope we both have a great Yuletide, and I can't wait for story reveals ^_^

I've collected my general preferences in the start, then have included a bit of talk about what I like in each fandom, as well as some prompt suggestions and a list of specific dislikes. Last comes what sources I could give for my fandoms. As you might notice, none of them are originally in English, and so accessibility is an issue. Hopefully this won't be a trouble for you, but if you have problems getting at a canon, either the one we matched on or another which tickles your fancy, drop me a note through mods and I might be able to help out

If you want to include non-con or character death, feel free to do so so. It doesn't squick me although I prefer it to have a reason or grounding in canon for such fic, not just grimdark for the sake of darkness.

My story hooks are simply a list of suggestions, which will hopefully give you some ideas and inspiration. If you come up with another idea for the nominated characters, I'll be delighted with a surprise as well, as long as it doesn't contain any of my listed dislikes.

That's all from me! If you're the kind of author who likes to check up on your recipe a bit, I mostly moved off DW/LJ a while ago and now hang mostly on Tumblr. Same username there as here, as well as on AO3.

Before I completely forget it all, I thought I'd make a collection of the music that go with the different chapters of my latest fic.....

I'm a very music-oriented writer, in the sense that everything but the shortest ficlet is connected to a specific song/artist/style of music... Since this is the first musical verse I've ever written for, it was quite different to attempt this with Les Misérables, and I've fiddled around with versions more than I ever have before.

Throughout the fic, the Original French Concept Album and either the movie soundtrack and a low-quality copy of the movie (pirated because the small file-size stopped my comp from freezing up) more or less looped in the background constantly. Best way bar none to get into writing mood was to just listen through all my favorite songs =)

Behind - or beneath? - the music is also the poem, When Earth's Last Picture is Painted which I've read and re-read far too many times x_X Here, have an odd choir version of it too...

Sometimes, I whine about how rare Luffy/Zoro fics are. Well. At least that's nothing compared to trying to find Johnny+Yosaku and JoYoZo fics. The poor idiots don't even get character tags at ff.net!

And yes, in my headcanon, those two are totally together and had some kind of threesome with Zoro. Their fanboying of marimo-aniki is just a bit too blatant ;P

Also, the (semi-canon? idk) looks they got in the filler flashback where Zoro dreams of their first meeting must be seen to be believed. Holy hell, hideous and flaming at once o.0

Tall Tales - Johnny and Yosaku fantasize about the Strawhats they've met. Funny and really hot. ♥ ♥

Sin - Interesting little ficlet. Zoro, Jonny, Yosaku and homophobia. Appearance by Sanji too. For being so short, it packs a heavy punch. ♥

Whores are cheap (but Johnny and Yosaku are cheaper) - Hehe, alternate take on their first meeting. The goofy duo are in trouble and to get out of it they have to service Zoro. Bit of a dub-con warning at the start ♥

Celebration - J/Z/Y got a big bounty, of course they celebrate with sex and booze. ♥

Doujinshi - J&Y find the yaoi doujin Nami's been publishing about Zoro and Sanji.

So sometimes you want to write happy fic. Maybe even a bit of (urk) sap.

And it doesn't co-operate with you, because it all just gets clogged down in depressing introspection and you don't know what to do about it.

For me, what usually helps, is finding the correct type of music. This time, it took a bit of searching and in the end, I realized it wasn't actually happy music that I needed, but happy, vivid lyrics. Go digging through the memory banks and there, aha! A vague image of a song we used to sing back in school, some frantic googling for the half-remembered words (wine, valley, gold?)

The internet knows everything, of course, although I did end up a bit disappointed with the vocal alternatives I could find. Doesn't matter, the song lyrics are exactly what I need for happy Luffy/Zoro fic (though whether I can actually translate my mental images into actual words still remains to see)

Um. What else. Right, my hair is blue. I tend to dye my hair blue when I feel good about myself or a bit down, but not too much (because when I'm too down, it's too much of a hassle). And y'know, blue hair = awesomesauce

This episode is full of win, especially if you like me watch Hetalia and cheering all the nations on as they go on to UTTERLY FAIL at life ^_^

First there is a joke, sung out by Germany, Japan and Italy. They sing... bad. I mean, really bad. And really funnily too!

Then there's bleh lazy animation crap, but at least it's pretty short

After that we get the second wonderful meeting of Prussia and Hungary's boobs! (only the first half, alas) And the crotch-cloth of doom =D

They made that little argument much longer in the anime, and Prussia looks seriously creepy. I love how it becomes more and more obvious that his sense of humor (and taste too, if one goes by the Ore-sama blog) is, like, at the level of a 5-year-old.

However, and I may be the only one here, he also comes off as really* gay in this strip. As in going from "wheee! I can molest my buddy Hungary who has weird body issues yayness" to "Urk? Are them there breasts? do not want!" when it becomes impossible to deny Hungary's sex.

It's strange - in the beginning, I casual-shipped them. Or, how should I put it, I accepted that there were feelings of one way or another, most likely unrequited Prussia towards Hungary. But the more canon with them I see, the more I re-read the old strips (Christmas special & stripping Austria, omfg the ho-yay) the less I believe him to be interested in her that way. Loves to tease her? Oh yes, definitely. But love-love? Uhmm... Hmmmm. Dunno, even when I try to shake off the slasher goggles, it's hard to see. On the other hand, the Pru/Hun shippers over at the main comm are squeeing, so I guess I'm too home-blind to understand. And considering how awkward Germany becomes around people he likes, that angle is a definite possibility (it's Hetalia. You are allowed to draw characterization from national stereotypes, thus also from close relatives)

Although whoever wrote that fic (and I should remember who because it was kinda awesome ;_; ) about Prussia not knowing how to deal with female nations or women in general - you nailed it!

Anyway, good episode, hope they finish this little story next week

Showed another friend another two dozen episodes of Hetalia. And finally realized why the Ore-sama Diary with Hungary (not) growing boyparts is part two... I'd missed downloading the first part! Ah, fail!

But it was fun. We did about half of season two, and then I picked my favorite episodes from World Series (because I will not put anyone through more of Nekotalia than what absolutely can't be avoided) and we hit all the Nordic episodes ^_^ And drank lots and lots of glögg!

In further news, Hidekaz admits his sameface, though Prussia is still slightly more pointy and some person has started the blog Bangable Dudes in History. Not much content yet, but some of it made me giggle
