I put together an IKEA table! \o/

...it took like four hours /o\

In my defence, I must however point out that I lacked the proper tools and that it's a fold-out table. When I started, I thought it was basically screwing on the legs. Oops?

In other, slightly worrying news, the two strange screws I thought were left over from table-building appears to come instead from the bathroom mirror/shelf my carpenter put up the other day. Uh-oh?

It went vey slowly due to screwdriver fail, and I had to take a snack break but on the whole.. four frustrating hours -_-

Ah, IKEA. I still look back fondly on that one time I managed to assemble a desk lamp that did not, in fact, short-circuit the entire campus when I turned it on. Dem crazy days.

But seriously, your patience demands reverence.

Well, considering I was having a party today and this is the only table in the apartment except my desk, it was patience motivated by extreme neccessity (as for myself, I have been eating from tables these last days...)

IKEA has the weirdest diagrams in place of instructions. My roomates and I once had to take apart a bunk bed four times before finally assembling it correctly. :/

oh ikea

Oh god, my former bed was this pull-out thing... A couple of friends called and asked if I wanted to hang when I had just begun assembling it (one-ish?) Explaining what my plans were for the day, they offered to come over and help so we could play a game or something afterwards...

It took ALL BLOODY DAY for the three of us! Because the instructions were weird and they were two aaaaalmost identically sized screw thingys, where the larger fit in the place for the smaller ones but not the other way around. So we had to take the blasted thing apart once we got a certain point, remove the screw-thingies and make sure they were each in the right place for their size

That bed still tands with my parents, in the same room, and they are under strict instructions to never take it apart unless they're going to throw it out.
