Note: Die Wende is a German term that refers to the entire process of reunification and change that ended East Germany.

This was basically the fic I thought I was going to write when I started on "More than a brick" but it kind of grew and then I went waaaah Gilbo I wanted to write a different end.

But it felt unfair to leave the requesting anon with nothing, when I got such an inspiring prompt so I kind of wrote a shorter and darker version of the original fic.
