Actually.... I've been trying to understand why there is so little direct interaction between Germany and Prussia in the actual strips (well, considering that Prussia has only appeared in so little yet), but whenever they did, there was kind of distance where they didn't quite know what to make of each other. (Almost like the relationship between Bavaria and Prussia...) To speak of those two only. Which... explains the general feeling of loneliness they have. Which leads (more sub-consciously though) to all these lovely stories and doujinshi and everything that involves these two.

Also, as crude as that may sound, Germans are not really known for carrying their hearts on their sleeves. And Germany and Prussia being prime examples of these specimen don't realize that they don't need to be alone, but shut themselves off in order not to get hurt some time by being abandoned again. @.@ God, that sounds complicated.

Also: Austria being a downright bitch though is pretty fitting.
